Who are you?

FuzzyMabel is owned and managed by Cynthia Robinson. Cynthia has more than 30 years' experience in a variety of fiber arts—including knitting, crochet, needlepoint, sewing, quilting, and weaving—and has been creating original knitwear designs for 20 years. Additionally, she has been a professional developer of corporate Web sites since 1996.

Do you have a catalogue?
Alas, not at this time.

Are you only on the Web?
NO! At long last, we are pleased to announce that we have reopened in our new walk-in shoplocation. Originally located on St. Simons Island, GA, we moved all our operations to Lancaster, SC, during 2007 and welcome you to visit us here!

What's unique about Fuzzymabel.com?
Cynthia's expertise from the different aspects of online yarn buying—as a knitter, an online shopper, and a Web site developer—means that we created this site from the perspective of a customer:

  • Our real-time online checkout process allows you to shop 24 hours a day. You can also call us, fax us or mail in your order, if you prefer.
  • We take all major debit or credit cards--American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. Don't care to disclose your credit card number? We are happy to send you a PayPal invoice or accept a check.
  • You can purchase as much or as little as you like (no "full bag" or minimum purchase requirements!).
  • Our Fuzzy Dozen Bonus and Stash Builder's Club offers reward you for your yarn habit (click on the names to learn more about each offer):
Fuzzy Dozen--buy 12 skeins of the same yarn, get the 13th free!
Stash Builder's Club--buy $500 of merchandise within 90 days, get 15% off for the next year!
  • We spend a great deal of time color-correcting images on the site. While every monitor renders color differently, we try to optimize as many of the images as we can on a calibrated screen, so it starts out as close as possible to what you receive.
  • Everything that we offer can be accessed by categories based on our customers' priorities to help you find the perfect yarn or project, or inspire you to try something new.
  • You can see all the colors that we offer for every yarn on our site, in sample blocks (not color cards). If we don't have it in stock, we are more than happy to get it for you.
  • Don't like the color, texture, weight of your yarn when it arrives? No problem, even special-order items are returnable for full purchase price (shipping costs not included, and this policy does not apply to clearance items).

Where does the name come from?
Fuzzy and Mabel—two mutts that wandered into our livesas the kernel for this site and our shop was germinating.

Fuzzy lives up to his name. Part Chow-Chow, part Retriever (your guess at which kind is as good as ours), Fuzzy has plenty of halo, a purple tongue, a generous personality, and loves extra treats. Hence our Fuzzy Dozen.

Mabel, on the other hand, is the anti-Fuzzy. A sleek and gorgeous Dalmatian/Pit Bull/Great Dane (?) mix, she is quick and long, but a simple soul. She was the perfect choice to set our skill level ratings. After all, if Mabel could do it, it *must* be easy.
